Reiki and Clearing Heavy Energy: A Simple Yet Powerful Practice

Have you ever stepped into a room and instantly felt an overwhelming shift in energy? As if the air itself was thick with tension or sadness? That’s the lingering effect of heavy energy—residual emotional imprints from arguments, illness, loss, or even bad news received over the phone. Energy has a way of settling into spaces, but thankfully, Reiki can be a powerful tool to clear and uplift these environments.Recently, I decided to thoroughly cleanse my home -every single corner—from the bedroom to the Kitchen to the living room, especially the office/recording/magick room. The result? A completely transformed atmosphere filled with peace and light. Here are some examples of how you can do this as well in your space:My Reiki Energy Clearing Ritual🌀 Reiki Symbols: I intuitively selected Reiki symbols—both traditional and non-traditional—allowing the healing energy to flow through them. I infused each corner and wall with these symbols, filling the space with light and harmony.  I then charge up my own power (energy) and proceed with the exercise to “connect Heaven & Earth”, flushing out any toxins and channeling in both Divine & Gaia energies that intertwin within me.🔊 Sound Vibrations: I oftentimes use chanting mantras such as this: “with love and grace, clear this space.”, “Archangel Michael, clear this space of all energies that are not here for my highest good at this time.”, “clear, cleanse, delete restore… ill will lives here no more.”  Choose words that feel meaningful and that you are connected to. Repeat this aloud to amplify the energy shift – x3|x6|x9 times.  I also recommend a good set of spiritual bells as they are great for clearing spaces and welcoming in Angelic Energies.  I tend to walk clockwise through my space and eventually escort the energies out through a door or window.🌿 Sacred Scents: Burning incense or smudging, I trace Reiki symbols in the air, combining the power of scent with energetic clearing. The aroma not only purifies the space but also carries my intention into every part of the room.  Make sure to have an open door or window to escort the energies out.🌞 Air & Sunlight: Opening windows and doors allowed fresh air and sunlight to flood in. There’s nothing quite like natural light to cleanse, uplift, and revitalize a space.🎨 Color Visualization: I visualized Reiki symbols glowing in vibrant colors—specifically white and electric light blue (the color you see with electricity) —illuminating every room with healing energy. This technique added another layer of cleansing will create a Divine and peaceful atmosphere.Trust Your IntuitionThere are no strict rules about how many times you need to chant, draw symbols, or use incense/smudging/bells. The key is to tune into your intuition. When the room feels lighter and more peaceful, move on to the next.  It is important to tap into your intuitive self, your clairsentience, during this process and “feel” the energy move and shift.  The better attuned you can get to energy, the more powerful you become in this exercise (and others more advanced).  Fear has no place in this process.  It is important to remove all doubt and fear prior to these exercises to get the most benefit from them.Some more common Reiki and Space/House Clearing benefits are:Removing energies associated with: anger, frustration, sadness, disappointment, depression, fear, loneliness, guilt, loss, stagnation, heaviness, etc.Opening up to energies of: calm, acceptance, joy, uplifting feelings, inspiration, mindset resets, breathing, peace, intuitive connections, happiness, sense of vibrancy, empowerment, laughter, etc.Make Energy Clearing a HabitCleansing your space should be as routine as tidying up. Perhaps try committing to clearing your home weekly, preventing any buildup of stress, unnecessary items, or negativity. In my Tarot/Divination and Healing practices, I make sure to clear the energy between each client, ensuring a fresh start for every session. It makes sense, then, for everyone to incorporate a practice such as this into their own homes on a regular basis.I encourage you to do the same—whether it’s your home, office, or any place you spend significant time.
